Independence Day Celebration & Rural Empowerment 

FLO Jaipur, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat, celebrated Independence Day in a different way at the adopted village Kansera, Tehsil Nawa, District Kuchaman. The day was marked by flag hoisting, cultural performances, and impactful programs.

It combined patriotic fervour with meaningful rural empowerment initiatives. Also, it strengthened the vision of an empowered rural India, where women and girls can access education, skills, and resources to shape their future.

Key Highlights of the Day

  • Installation of a sanitary napkin vending machine to improve menstrual hygiene and empower girls and women.
  • Distribution of 20 bicycles for needy girl students, promoting education and mobility.
  • Solar panel installation at the women’s vocational training centre, enabling sustainable energy for learning and skill development.
  • Tree plantation drive to encourage environmental awareness and community participation.
  • Distribution of desktop computers & printers to enhance digital literacy and skill-building for women.
  • School Bags, tiffin boxes, and dental kits are provided to children, supporting their health and education.
  • Survival program for cancer awareness & support, promoting health education and preventive care.

Rural Empowerment Initiatives

  • The digital E-Mitra skilling program was launched, equipping women with computer skills and digital literacy.
  • Vocational training for women in stitching, tailoring, and crochet, enabling sustainable income generation.

Impact

The Independence Day celebration and rural empowerment initiative benefited 800+ women and girls, providing education, health, digital skills, and livelihood opportunities. It encouraged community participation and collective ownership, fostering long-term development and empowerment. The Independence Day celebration at Kansera was more than a festive event — it was a powerful movement for rural empowerment, education, and skill development. 

Through these initiatives, FICCI FLO Jaipur Chapter reinforced its commitment to uplifting rural communities, supporting women and girls, and promoting sustainable development, leaving a lasting, tangible impact on the lives of the village residents.
