Bold, Brave, and Beyond With Captain Yashika H Tyagi

FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Niyati A. Mehta, organised an unforgettable evening titled “Bold, Brave, and Beyond” at ITC Grand Chola, where members had the rare honour of listening to Captain Yashika Tyagi, a Kargil war veteran and military-inspired leadership coach. With a commanding presence and a voice full of conviction, Captain Tyagi shared her stories from the battlefield, her journey through the armed forces, and the lessons in leadership that shaped her into the inspiring figure she is today.

Her words were not just motivational—they were a call to action for every woman in the room to step up, lead boldly, and embrace her inner strength without hesitation. The evening began on a heartfelt and patriotic note as members of the Music Spark group performed a beautifully curated choir of patriotic songs in both Tamil and Hindi. Their soulful rendition created an emotionally charged atmosphere, setting the perfect tone for what was to follow.

The spirit of India and the resilience of its people were echoed not just in song but in sentiment throughout the event. Adding to the patriotic flavour was a Photography Contest organised by the Photography Spark group. Members submitted photographs taken across India that reflected the country’s incredible beauty and diversity. The top entries were selected and showcased during the event, drawing admiration and applause from the audience.

These stunning visuals served as a powerful reminder of the nation’s richness through the lens of its people. The event concluded with a delightful high tea, giving members a chance to connect, reflect, and celebrate the spirit of courage and leadership that Captain Tyagi so powerfully embodied.

A total of 183 women attended the inspiring session featuring Captain Tyagi, who captivated the audience with her battlefield stories and her journey through the armed forces. Bold, Brave, and Beyond was more than just a talk, as it was a deeply stirring experience that reminded us of the strength that lies within and the importance of daring to lead.
