FLO Ahmedabad, under the leadership of chairperson Madhu Banthia, signed three landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) under the Textile, Handicraft & Handloom vertical, aimed at skilling, uplifting, and promoting women and artisans through a thoughtful blend of tradition, education, and opportunity.
The occasion was graced by renowned actor and cultural icon Shefali Shah, who attended as the Chief Guest and brought added warmth and visibility to the initiative. This movement is guided by Mentor Shilpa Milan Patel, whose vision and direction have been instrumental in shaping these impactful collaborations. Initiative head, Rachita Parikh, played an important role in making this event successful.

- Objective: To empower Gujarat’s traditional weavers by offering platforms to showcase their craft and expand market access.
- Participation in FLO Bazaars, fashion shows, and curated exhibitions.
- Selected weavers will be nominated for Anushkam in Delhi for national-level exposure.

- Signed With: Dr. Falguni Patel and Risha Roy.
- Objective: To provide young women and girls from the NGO SAHAY with structured design-skilling in embroidery and stitching.
- Hands-on training delivered by expert faculty and mentors.
- Focus on enhancing traditional techniques with contemporary design learning.

- Objective: To identify and support girls from SAHAY to participate in the Anant University skill development program.
- Execution: Training in embroidery and stitching & empowering girls with tools for creativity, confidence, and livelihood generation.
The signing of three MoUs by FLO Ahmedabad is an effort towards building careers for women in the handloom, textile, and handicrafts industries. It aims to elevate Gujarat’s textile legacy through meaningful exposure. Also, it is a model of synergy between artisans, institutions, and social organisations under FICCI FLO. This event is a part of FLO Ahmedabad’s initiative to empower women artisans by supporting them in skill-building and design innovation.
