Workshop on Financial Readiness for MSME Entrepreneurs

FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Divya Abhishek and supported by MSME Vertical Head Ms. Geetha Premkumar, hosted a workshop on financial readiness for MSME entrepreneurs. The event, attended by 100 people, aimed to empower entrepreneurs by providing them with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the complexities of business financing and access government schemes for MSMEs.

Attendees learned how to make their businesses more attractive to financial institutions and increase their chances of loan approval. The session delved into what banks look for in balance sheets, emphasizing the importance of maintaining accurate financial records, clear cash flow projections, and solid business plans. Key highlights of the session were a comprehensive exploration of government benefits available to women-led MSMEs, including financial schemes, grants, and subsidies designed to support female entrepreneurs.

Additionally, the workshop provided a guide to securing loan approvals, outlining the necessary documentation, the role of credit ratings, and common pitfalls to avoid. Practical strategies for improving creditworthiness, managing debt, and building strong relationships with financial institutions were discussed.

Industry experts and speakers of the event, Mr. R. Swaminathan and Ms. Jayalakshmi Karthik shared valuable insights from their experiences. They gave the participants an understanding of the evolving financial landscape, offering advice on making businesses “bank-ready” and improving their overall economic health. Their discussions included tips on managing risk, optimizing profitability, and exploring alternative funding options.
