FLO Bangalore launched the national WE initiative in the city. This was launched by Jija Madhavan Harisingh, Director General of Police (Retd.) and P. Ravikumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Transport and Energy.
The initiative in Bangalore is being spearheaded by Manjari Jalan for Education and Revathi Raju for Transport. Many schools promoters and principals attended the event. The RTO head – Mr. Ashfaq Ahamed in-charge of issuing licenses, was present and assured of his support. Bangalore’s only woman bus driver – Prema was also there and shared her experiences. Representatives from Maruti, Group 4 and Securitas were all present. The schools representatives took a pledge to try to hire more women in their organizations.
