FLO Vadodara, under the leadership of Chairperson Shivani P. Patel, organised a Women’s Health Awareness Program on early detection of breast cancer at Jagaji Mandir Hall, Shokda Village, Dist. Vadodara. The session was led by speaker Dr. Rashmi Banerjee, MD, Gynaecology and Credential IMS Menopause Practitioner (CIMP), Zydus Hospitals, Vadodara, who emphasised the importance of early screening and timely medical consultation for breast cancer.
She highlighted symptoms that should not be ignored and explained simple self-examination techniques that could save lives through early intervention. To reinforce the learning with practical action, a private health check-up room was arranged. Under Dr. Banerjee’s guidance, a nurse carried out individual screenings, enabling the women to gain confidence in prioritising their health.
The event was supported by village leaders, including Dr. Chirag Patel (Sarpanch) and Dr. Aena Patel, whose contribution was instrumental in coordinating the program. A heartfelt acknowledgement was extended to Dr. Aena Patel for her key role in making the session impactful.
The initiative marked an important step in raising breast cancer awareness in rural communities, instilling both knowledge and courage among women to adopt preventive healthcare measures. The program witnessed active participation from over 395 village women.
