Rewiring Women’s Health with Ritesh Bawri, renowned Nutritionist, Physiologist, blogger and influencer

The webinar Rewiring Women’s Health with Ritesh Bawri, renowned Nutritionist, Physiologist, blogger and influencer, was the second session in the series of “Love Yourself”.

It began with Chairperson Sunira Chamaria, launching a project where FLO Kolkata in association with Hey Dee Dee will help create livelihoods for underprivileged women across the country, by training them to be financially independent and find jobs. Such projects have already found success in some other chapters of FLO last year. For Rs 10,000/- you can empower someone to get a job while so many are loosing jobs. She introduced the team leading this initiative and extended thanks to those who had contributed generously within minutes of the launch.

The focus of this session was lifestyle diseases in women, most of which Ritesh in his extensive practice has proven to be reversible. He began with simplifying it by saying that health depends on –

1) What we put into our bodies, i.e. Nutrition and Breath. If we are consuming too much or too little of certain things then the balance of the body is disturbed causing diseases. We need to breathe slowly and deeply 5 breaths/ min whereas we tend to breathe 15 to 20 times, which makes body acidic and stress levels raise.

2) How we utilise what goes into our body.

He stressed on 5 things which form foundation of good health –
(a) Eat well, (b) Sleep well, (c) Exercise, (d) Meditate & (e) Cut down toxins.

An audience of about 200 members had all their queries on diabetes, hypertension, PCOS, Thyroid issues, IBS etc answered and explained very scientifically and simply by Ritesh. He gave interesting tips for glowing skin and good hair, and demystified intermittent fasting. He even gave simple solutions for insomnia too which has been a problem with many during the pandemic. A very informative session with lots of valuable take home.
