YFLO Kolkata hosted the Mahjong Soiree on 25th August 2026 at Cosy Box, Kolkata, bringing together 70 members for an engaging evening of learning, recreation, networking and entrepreneurial promotion. The event was conceptualised under the YFLO Spotlight Initiative, with the aim of promoting member-led ventures while creating opportunities for meaningful interaction and stronger connections within the YFLO community.
The highlight of the evening was an interactive Mahjong learning session conducted by YFLO member Urvi Kanoi, founder of Onn Mahjong, along with Nikita Agarwal. Onn Mahjong is a startup dedicated to teaching Mahjong and organising tournaments, tapping into the growing popularity of the game. The session introduced members to Mahjong, its rules and strategies, while providing Urvi with a platform to showcase her expertise and promote her entrepreneurial venture to an engaged audience.
Further strengthening the event’s entrepreneurial focus, two women-led exhibitors showcased and sold Mahjong-related products, offering members an opportunity to explore and purchase products associated with the game. This integration supported YFLO’s MSME Initiative by creating brand visibility, encouraging direct customer interaction, and providing opportunities for business promotion within the member network.
The event also incorporated an element of Health & Wellness, highlighting Mahjong as a recreational activity that encourages memory, concentration, strategic thinking, and mental agility. Beyond its cognitive benefits, the game encouraged social interaction, teamwork and relaxation, contributing to members’ mental and social well-being.
The relaxed and interactive format encouraged members to connect beyond conventional networking environments, engage in friendly competition, develop new interests, and strengthen friendships. The growing popularity of Mahjong made the experience particularly relevant and appealing, allowing members to participate in a trending social activity while supporting fellow women entrepreneurs.
Through the Mahjong Soiree, YFLO Kolkata successfully brought together member engagement, entrepreneurial visibility, and holistic wellness on a single platform.
