Youth Policy Conclave & Educational VYouth Policy Conclave & Educational Visit to Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabhaisit to Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha

The Youth Policy Conclave and Educational Visit to the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, held on 22 August, provided an enriching platform for young women to understand governance, public policy, and democratic institutions. Organised as an experiential learning initiative, the programme combined policy discussions with a guided visit to the Vidhan Sabha, offering participants a rare opportunity to witness the functioning of a legislative institution firsthand.

The event commenced with an orientation session introducing participants to the history, significance, and constitutional role of the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. Experts and officials explained how laws are drafted, debated, amended, and enacted, providing practical insights into the legislative framework that shapes public policy and governance.

A key highlight of the conclave was the interactive policy dialogue focusing on youth participation in governance, women’s representation in leadership, and the evolving role of public institutions in addressing contemporary challenges. Participants actively engaged in discussions, raising questions related to policymaking, governance reforms, leadership opportunities, and citizen responsibilities.

During the educational visit, attendees toured important sections of the Vidhan Sabha premises and learned about legislative procedures, decision-making processes, and administrative functions. The experience helped them appreciate the complexities of governance and the collaborative efforts involved in creating effective policies for public welfare.

The programme also emphasised the importance of informed citizenship, critical thinking, and active democratic participation. Through direct engagement with experts and institutional representatives, participants gained practical knowledge that complemented their academic and professional aspirations.

The event successfully created awareness about policy processes and encouraged young women to consider leadership roles in governance, public administration, and community development. It served as a valuable platform for learning, networking, and inspiration, strengthening participants’ understanding of democratic institutions and their potential role in shaping a more inclusive and progressive society.
