Awareness Today, Healthier Tomorrow. Menstrual Hygiene, Breast & Cervical Cancer Awareness & Biodegradable Pad Distribution Drive

FLO Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chairperson Tripti Behl, hosted the “Awareness Today, Healthier Tomorrow,” a highly impactful, multi-phase community outreach campaign organized by FICCI FLO Uttarakhand under its Health & Wellness and Greentech and Circular Economy Initiative verticals. Led by Chapter Chairperson Tripti Behl and Health & Wellness Lead Dr. Giggle Rastogi, the chapter successfully executed a series of 9 comprehensive drives spanning July, August, and September.

Organized in close collaboration with the Can Protect Foundation and Humans For Humanity, the campaign seamlessly blended vital healthcare education with environmental sustainability.

Special speakers and medical experts Dr. Simran and Dr. Rekha Khanna spearheaded the educational sessions, empowering women and young girls with crucial knowledge on menstrual hygiene management and menstrual dignity. A core focus of the drive was breaking taboos and emphasizing early detection and prevention strategies for breast and cervical cancer, which resulted in 40 women receiving critical clinical breast cancer screenings.

Demonstrating a strong commitment to the environment, the initiative paired its health workshops with a major community distribution drive, providing eco-friendly biodegradable sanitary pads to protect local ecosystems from plastic waste while ensuring access to essential hygiene products.

Over the course of the three-month campaign, five dedicated committee members drove the initiative across an extensive regional footprint in Dehradun, including welfare institutions like Nari Niketan and Akhil Bhartiya Mahila Ashram, higher education campuses like Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University and B. S. Negi Polytechnic, and multiple government schools (GGIC Rajpur Road, Lakhi Bagh, Ajabpurkalan, and Raipur)—ultimately transforming lives and directly benefiting 1,400 individuals.
