Brand Ambassador Exchange – Power Circle Meet

FLO Ahmedabad, through its Green Tech Committee, organised “Waste to Wealth”, a Green Tech and Circular Economy initiative, in association with Vedant Group of Schools. It was held at Gordhanwadi, Maninagar, Ahmedabad, with the theme “Your waste has value”. The key topics were segregation of waste and the circular economy.

The session was led by Rutvi Vyas and hosted by Rajvi Parikh, under Chairperson Usha Jaiswal. It began with cleanliness. Rutvi Vyas spoke about the importance of maintaining a clean city and managing waste responsibly. The students were sensitised to the need to keep their surroundings clean and to understand how proper waste segregation contributes to a healthier and cleaner environment.

The second part explained the different types of waste and how to segregate each, using colour-coded dustbins. Green is for wet and biodegradable waste, blue for dry and recyclable waste, red for hazardous and sanitary waste, and black for other or rejected waste. The colour system gave students an easy way to remember how to sort waste at home and in school.

The programme also linked segregation to the circular economy, showing that waste sorted correctly at the source can be recycled and turned back into something of value. The format was interactive, so students could take part instead of only listening. This helped the message stay with them and made it more likely they would put it into practice. The response was overwhelming, with more than 1000 participants recorded.

The event reflects FLO Ahmedabad’s commitment to creating awareness of issues that affect everyday life, and to involving young people early in building good civic habits. It also shows how a school and a women’s business chapter can work together for a cleaner, more sustainable city.
