FLO Bengaluru’s Social Impact Circle organised an E-Waste Collection Drive & Clothes Donation Drive on 5th September 2026, in collaboration with Saahas Zero Waste. The initiative brought together environmental sustainability and community welfare, encouraging households to adopt responsible waste disposal practices while contributing usable clothing for redistribution to underserved communities.
The collection drive engaged 200 households across Koramangala, generating active community participation. A total of 161 kg of e-waste was collected and channelled for responsible processing and recycling through Saahas Zero Waste. By facilitating appropriate recycling, the initiative aimed to prevent electronic waste and potentially hazardous materials from being improperly disposed of and entering landfills.
Alongside the e-waste collection, residents were encouraged to donate used clothing that could be redistributed to communities in need. This dual initiative highlighted the principles of reuse, recycling, responsible consumption, and community sharing, demonstrating how everyday household practices can contribute to both environmental and social outcomes.
The collaboration with Saahas Zero Waste strengthened FICCI FLO Bengaluru’s efforts under the Green Tech & Circular Economy focus area. The initiative also created an opportunity for community members to better understand the importance of segregating waste and ensuring that different categories of discarded materials reach appropriate channels for recovery or reuse.
With 200 participating households and 161 kg of e-waste collected, the drive demonstrated the potential of neighbourhood-level participation in creating measurable environmental impact. The initiative also reinforced FLO Bengaluru’s commitment to integrating sustainability into community engagement and social impact programmes.
As a follow-up, FICCI FLO Bengaluru plans to continue its association with Saahas Zero Waste and explore similar e-waste and recycling drives across other residential communities in Bengaluru. The future initiatives will aim to expand participation, strengthen awareness around responsible waste management, and encourage more households to adopt sustainable practices as part of everyday living.
