FLO Uttarakhand Srijan Skill Centre launch took place on August 20, 2026, in Jaspur, Udham Singh Nagar. Organized under the Textile, Handloom & Handicrafts vertical, this year-round initiative was inaugurated under the leadership of Chairperson Tripti Behl, alongside Past Chairperson Komal Batra. The event marked the commencement of a one-month intensive silk-weaving training program for its inaugural batch of 30 women selected from local Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Executed in partnership with Doon Silk and the Uttarakhand Silk Federation as the implementation partner, the launch combined corporate, community, and government resources to empower rural women through skill development and sustainable entrepreneurship. Additionally, industry experts, including Master Weaver Vakar Ahmad and Mr. Darshan from the Silk Federation, attended to share vital technical knowledge and mentor the trainees.
The centre will provide free Silk Weave training in the first phase to a group of 30 SHG women. To support hands-on learning, Uttarakhand Silk Federation has extended its expertise as an implementation partner for the training. The aim is to equip women with practical skills, build confidence, and create pathways towards employment and entrepreneurship. This partnership combines corporate leadership, industry expertise, and government-backed infrastructure to provide free, high-quality silk-weaving training and sustainable livelihood opportunities for local women.
