The JJ Valaya Chronicle – Language of Luxury and the Art of Timelessness, organised by FICCI FLO Kanpur on 18th August 2026, was an inspiring celebration of Indian fashion, luxury, creativity and craftsmanship. The event brought together members and beneficiaries for an enriching interaction with renowned fashion designer JJ Valaya, whose distinctive design philosophy is deeply rooted in India’s cultural heritage, traditional textiles and intricate craftsmanship.
The event featured an engaging conversation with JJ Valaya, offering participants an opportunity to gain insights into the world of luxury fashion and understand the creative journey behind building a timeless design language. He spoke about the importance of storytelling in fashion, the role of heritage in contemporary design, and how creativity can transform traditional techniques into sophisticated expressions of modern luxury. His perspectives encouraged participants to appreciate fashion not merely as clothing, but as an artistic medium that communicates culture, identity, and individuality.
A key highlight of the programme was the interactive styling session conducted by the JJ Valaya team. The session provided practical insights into styling and demonstrated how different garments, textiles and design elements can be thoughtfully combined to create elegant and distinctive looks. Participants were also introduced to various traditional embroidery styles, Indian crafts, and intricate craftsmanship techniques, helping them understand the skill, patience, and artistry involved in creating luxury fashion.
The specially curated JJ Valaya collection display further enhanced the experience. The collection showcased the richness of India’s textile heritage and demonstrated how traditional craftsmanship can be reimagined through a contemporary luxury perspective. The display allowed participants to observe the detailing, textures, embroidery, and design aesthetics that contribute to the creation of timeless fashion.
With 172 FLO members, 180 beneficiaries and a footprint of 180+, the programme successfully created a meaningful platform for knowledge-sharing, inspiration and cultural appreciation.
