FLO Policy & Advocacy Initiative

Amplifying Women’s Voices in Governance, Law, and Policy Reform

Overview

Women are still underrepresented in the spaces where public policy is designed and institutional decisions are made. Anchored around the theme “From Beneficiary to Policy Maker,” the FLO Policy & Advocacy Initiative aims to position FICCI FLO as a credible national policy institution—connecting grassroots realities directly to government leaders.

Objective

To empower women by advocating for gender-responsive policies and ensuring their fair representation in governance and leadership. The initiative enables women not only to benefit from public policy, but to influence it actively.

Key Focus Areas

Policy Engagement & Dialogue

Partnering with think tanks, central and state ministries, and lawmakers to draft progressive policies supporting women in business, governance, and the workforce, promoting gender equality and inclusive democracy.

Research & Scheme Accessibility

Publishing evidence-based policy whitepapers and simplifying government schemes so they reach the women who need them most.

Leadership & Capacity Building

Training women in governance, public policy, and leadership to prepare them for civic administration, boardrooms, and political participation, leading to good governance and fair representation in governance.

Advocacy & Awareness Campaigns

Leading national campaigns on economic inclusion, legal reform, and gender equality to ensure women's priorities shape national agendas. Policy recommendations will be formulated by young women, presenting these evidence-based frameworks directly to lawmakers to shape gender-responsive governance.
