Raising a Resilient Family in a Fragile World

Aligned with FLO’s steadfast commitment to promoting Mental Health & Wellness and Life Skills, the FLO Kolkata Chapter hosted an exceptional and deeply transformative session titled “Raising a Resilient Family in a Fragile World,” featuring the internationally acclaimed spiritual mentor, leadership coach, and Governing Body Commissioner (GBC) of ISKCON, Gauranga Das Prabhuji.

The session served as an inspiring platform for reflection, learning, and meaningful dialogue on one of the most pressing concerns of modern society—the cultivation of emotional resilience amidst rapidly changing personal and professional landscapes. Drawing upon timeless teachings from the Bhagavad Gita, the speaker masterfully connected ancient wisdom with contemporary realities, highlighting the increasing emotional challenges faced by individuals and families in today’s achievement-oriented world.

He eloquently emphasised that while economic growth and professional accomplishments remain important, true wellbeing is founded upon emotional stability, spiritual awareness, meaningful relationships, and a strong sense of purpose. The discourse was thoughtfully structured around six transformative principles—Perception, Perspective, Peer Relationships, Conviction, Concentration, and Courage—offering participants a comprehensive framework for strengthening both personal fulfilment and professional excellence.

Through compelling narratives, relatable anecdotes, and practical examples, the speaker encouraged members to develop a resilient mindset, embrace self-awareness, regulate emotions effectively, and build relationships anchored in empathy and trust. A particularly enriching segment focused on conscious parenting and the speaker’s practical ABCD Framework—Association, Books, Contemplation, and Diet—which offered valuable guidance on nurturing emotionally secure, value-driven children through intentional parenting and positive role modelling.

The highly interactive question-and-answer session witnessed enthusiastic participation from FLO members, who engaged in insightful conversations on balancing multiple roles, managing expectations, fostering resilience in children, and integrating mindfulness into daily life. The speaker’s thoughtful responses, grounded in both philosophy and practicality, resonated deeply with the audience.

More than an inspirational lecture, the session evolved into a powerful learning experience that equipped members with actionable life skills to enhance emotional wellbeing, strengthen family bonds, cultivate purposeful leadership, and navigate adversity with composure and confidence. The programme beautifully reflected FLO’s vision of empowering women not only as successful professionals and entrepreneurs but also as emotionally resilient individuals capable of nurturing stronger families, healthier communities, and a more compassionate society.
