Sapno Ki Gullak Se Aarthik Udaan Tak

FLO Ahmedabad, in partnership with Shalini (Udayan Care) and the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), organised “Sapno Ki Gullak Se Aarthik Udaan Tak – A Financial Literacy Workshop for Women’s Empowerment” on 12th June 2026, at AMA, Ahmedabad. The workshop was designed specifically for young women aged 14–20 associated with the Shalini Foundation, including students, trainees, and working young women — a group for whom structured financial education is often out of reach.

The session was led by Ms. Shreya Dave, a corporate finance trainer with over 12 years of experience and 800+ training sessions to her credit. Rather than relying on dense technical instruction, the workshop used storytelling-based learning activities and real-life examples to simplify complex financial concepts, helping participants grasp the importance of consistent saving and the long-term power of compounding.

The curriculum covered essential ground: budgeting and systematic savings, an introduction to Mutual Funds and SIPs, the different types of mutual fund schemes — equity, debt, and hybrid — and a foundational understanding of risk versus return. Participants were also introduced to the discipline required for regular investing and encouraged to begin their financial journeys early, with confidence rather than hesitation.

An interactive Q&A session allowed participants to clarify doubts and engage directly with the speaker, ensuring the concepts covered translated into genuine understanding rather than passive listening. The workshop saw strong participation, with 110 young women from Shalini attending, supported by 20 FLO Ahmedabad members who engaged with beneficiaries throughout the session.

Beyond the room, the initiative achieved significant digital reach, with over 5,000 individuals reached through digital promotions, WhatsApp outreach, social media communication, and the combined networks of AMA and Shalini.
