FICCI FLO Pune Chapter conducted a Menstrual Health & Hygiene Awareness Program at Sharadchandra Vidyalaya, Vadgaon Ghenand, with the objective of promoting awareness, dignity, and access to menstrual hygiene resources for young girls and women. The program included informative sessions on menstrual health, hygiene practices, breaking myths and taboos surrounding menstruation, and the importance of maintaining personal health and well-being.
The interactive sessions encouraged participants to ask questions openly and gain confidence in managing their menstrual health. Also, the FLO chapter initiated Sanitary Pad Vending Machines and Sanitary Pad Disposal (Incinerator) Machines to two schools in the village. These facilities will ensure easy access to sanitary products and provide a safe and hygienic method for disposal, creating a healthier environment for students. Approximately 700 women and young students benefited from this program.
