FLO Amritsar organised an engaging awareness and outreach programme in support of FICCI FLO’s national initiative “Play to Rise – Let’s Support Her to Rise.” Hosted at Vamos Padel Club, Amritsar’s first boutique padel club, the event was designed to promote the Sports Rising Championship 2026–27 while encouraging greater participation of women and girls in sports.
The initiative adopted an interactive and community-focused approach, welcoming approximately 480 participants, including aspiring athletes, parents, sports enthusiasts and members of the wider community.
Led by Ms. Tanyya Khanna, Chairperson, FLO Amritsar, and Ms. Drishti Mishra Khurana, Vice Chairperson, FLO Amritsar, the event inspired women and young athletes to view sports not only as a means of physical fitness but also as a pathway to confidence, leadership, discipline and personal growth.
Participants were introduced to padel through hands-on experiences, giving many their first opportunity to explore one of the world’s fastest-growing sports in a welcoming and accessible environment. An important component of the programme was direct engagement with young athletes and their families. Conversations focused on understanding their sporting interests, competitive aspirations and the practical challenges they encounter in accessing coaching, training facilities and sporting infrastructure.
FLO members also guided eligible participants through the nomination process for the Sports Rising Championship 2026–27, encouraging registrations across multiple sporting disciplines and highlighting the opportunities available through the national platform. The event further showcased the importance of building a strong support ecosystem for women in sports.
Through its collaboration with Vamos Padel Club, participants were introduced to coaching opportunities, accessible sporting facilities and community-driven initiatives that encourage sustained participation in sports. A multi-designer showcase by Couture by KJH added a vibrant lifestyle dimension to the event, bringing together sports, fashion and community engagement in a unique setting.

Around 35 FLO Amritsar members and 480 participants participated in the Play to Rise initiative. By combining experiential sports participation with meaningful conversations and outreach, the initiative successfully strengthened awareness of the national campaign while encouraging women and girls to embrace sports as a vehicle for confidence, resilience, leadership and holistic wellbeing.
