It was a privilege for Ms. Puja Garg, National President, FICCI FLO, to meet H.E. Marisa Gerards, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to India, to explore avenues of collaboration that advance women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment. Ms. Garg was accompanied by Ms. Reshma Patel, Governing Body Member, FICCI FLO, and Ms. Rashmi Sarita, Executive Director, FICCI FLO.
The meeting highlighted FICCI FLO’s 43-year legacy of empowering women across India and discussed opportunities to deepen India–Netherlands engagement through trade missions, women-led business collaborations, knowledge exchange, sustainability, innovation, agriculture, water management, and climate resilience.
The delegation also explored a business delegation to the Netherlands and received valuable guidance on engaging with Her Majesty Queen Máxima through the appropriate diplomatic channels.
A particularly inspiring innovative idea deliberation regarding women’s safety and security was on a community-led model for women’s safety, where trained citizens play an active role in supporting women in distress. This innovative approach resonated strongly with FLO’s commitment to creating safer and more inclusive communities for women and children, opening avenues for future collaboration and knowledge sharing.
FICCI FLO looks forward to building a meaningful partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to create greater opportunities for women entrepreneurs, leaders, and changemakers from both nations.
