The Czech–Indian Round Table was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Czech Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Prague, to strengthen bilateral trade relations and explore opportunities for collaboration between India and the Czech Republic.
The event welcomed a 37-member FICCI FLO women’s business delegation from India, led by Ms. Poonam Sharma, National President, FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO). The meeting served as a dynamic platform for dialogue, networking, and partnership-building between Czech institutions and Indian women entrepreneurs.
The event began with the registration of participants and informal networking among representatives of Czech institutions and the FLO delegation.
Opening Remarks (14:00 – 14:15)
- Ms. Eva Hanáková, Advisor to the Minister, Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, delivered the opening address, emphasizing the government’s commitment to promoting international cooperation and women’s participation in trade.
- Ms. Poonam Sharma, President, FICCI FLO, highlighted FLO’s role as the apex body for women entrepreneurs in India and the organisation’s initiatives in fostering global business linkages.
- Mr. Radek Jakubský, Vice President, Czech Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the delegation and spoke on the importance of developing stronger trade and investment ties between the two nations.
Session on India–Czechia Commercial Relations (14:15 – 14:20)
- H.E. Raveesh Kumar, Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic, shared his perspectives on the strong and evolving trade relationship between India and Czechia. He emphasized the scope for expanding cooperation in technology, innovation, and manufacturing, and encouraged greater engagement between the business communities of both countries.
Presentation on Investment Opportunities in Czechia (14:20 – 14:30)
- Ms. Gabriela Bauerová, Director, Investment Development Department, CzechInvest, outlined Czechia’s favorable business environment, key growth sectors, and support mechanisms available for foreign investors.
- Ms. Martina Urbánková and Ms. Lucie Schaffelhoferová, Export Consultants from CzechTrade, introduced CzechTrade’s services, highlighting opportunities for trade facilitation and export promotion.
Introduction of the Indian Business Delegation (14:30 – 14:40)
- Ms. Rashmi Sarita, Executive Director, FLO, introduced the delegation members, representing a diverse range of sectors, including manufacturing, design, healthcare, education, and sustainable enterprises. She spoke about FLO’s initiatives in promoting international business collaborations and women-led trade.
Networking & Knowledge Sharing (14:40 – 15:00)
The session concluded with an open networking segment, allowing Czech and Indian participants to engage in one-on-one interactions and explore avenues for collaboration. The discussions emphasized mutual opportunities in sectors such as technology, design, manufacturing, and education.
The event facilitated the signing of an MoU between FICCI FLO and the Czech Chamber of Commerce, aimed at promoting trade, investment, and business exchange between women entrepreneurs in both countries.
Strengthened institutional linkages between FLO, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and CzechInvest for future collaborative initiatives.
Initiated discussions on cross-border business partnerships and skill exchange programs for women-led enterprises.
The Czech–Indian Round Table marked an important step toward deepening economic engagement and promoting women-led business exchanges between India and the Czech Republic.
