YFLO Hyderabad organised a fellowship cum field trip to the Kamson manufacturing facility in Kottur Mandal (50 Kms from the Hyderabad City). Kamson is one of the largest manufactures of Himalaya Herbal products in India.
Mr. Maneesh Gilada, Director at Kamson Healthcare briefed the members on the various processes/permissions which are required in setting up a facility which manufactures cosmetics and pharmaceutical products. He also answered all their queries with regards to a cosmetics product versus an herbal product.
The day began with 34 members networking and bonding during the one hour bus journey to Kamson. We were divided into 2 batches to tour the facility. All members were provided with disposable hair caps, shoe covers and aprons to maintain hygiene and quality control within the facility. Mr. Maneesh Gilada and 2 of his engineers meticulously explained the processes from unloading of raw material, approvals, water purification systems, material handling, mixing & manufacturing, quality checks, labelling/coding to filling/packing and finally to dispatching.
Members thoroughly enjoyed seeing products which they largely use in their daily regime being manufactured in front of their eyes. Kamson generously provided our members with a scrumptious lunch and Himalaya Herbal gift hampers which was much appreciated by all.
