FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Niyati A. Mehta, hosted an insightful session on “The Art and Science of Jewellery” at Mehta Jewellery, led by industry specialist Mr. Abhay S. Mehta. It marked the first-ever initiative by FLO Chennai towards planning an MoU with NIFT.
The interactive session provided students with in-depth knowledge of the jewellery industry and valuable real-time exposure. Mr. Abhay explained key aspects such as ideation, idea validation, IP creation, design thinking, product development, next steps, and building their own brand.
In addition, the students were taken on a guided factory visit where they gained hands-on experience, interacted with designers, learned about craftsmanship, and received valuable inputs on design and production processes, making the session both educational and enriching. Mr Beerka Chattapaly, a HOD at NIFT, appreciated this session.
The session concluded with an insightful Q&A where students actively engaged with the speaker. Over 20 students from NIFT participated in the session. FLO Chennai extends its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Abhay S. Mehta for delivering a wonderful and inspiring session for the NIFT students.
