Swasta Trust Stall at “Bold, Brave, and Beyond”

FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Niyati A. Mehta, organised a complimentary stall to Swastha, a public charitable trust dedicated to vocational training for adult children with special needs. They run a production unit for the products to be sold. This initiative was part of the “Bold, Brave, and Beyond” event held at ITC Grand Chola, Guindy, where 183 members gathered to hear the inspiring words of Kargil war veteran Captain Yashika Tyagi.

The Swasta stall beautifully showcased a range of handcrafted products made by the beneficiaries of the trust—handmade bags, delicate jewellery, including necklaces and bracelets, and charming plant pots. The creativity and craftsmanship on display stood as a powerful testament to the capabilities of these talented individuals when given the right platform and support. Engaging directly with the attendees, the Swastha team received encouraging feedback, made sales, and most importantly, gained visibility and recognition for their work.

By participating in this event, Swastha was able to share its mission with a broader audience, helping to build awareness around the importance of creating meaningful employment and life skills for adults with special needs. For many attendees, the stall served as both an inspiring showcase and a reminder of how small, purposeful actions can lead to large social impact.

FICCI FLO Chennai remains committed to supporting such skilling and livelihood initiatives.  Especially the DNI, providing platforms like these is central to FLO’s vision of fostering empowerment through opportunity—especially for those whose voices are often unheard. The presence of Swastha at this event truly embodied the spirit of courage, inclusion, and community upliftment.
