FLO Northeast, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Rashmi Manchanda, conducted a Skill to Scale Flower Making Workshop at the Central Jail, Lokhra, with the objective of empowering women inmates through creative skill development. The initiative focused on skilling, dignity, reintegration, and self-reliance.
A team of FLO members visited the premises and conducted a hands-on training session on artificial flower crafting. The workshop introduced techniques such as petal cutting, shaping, color coordination, and basic product finishing. Also, the session was designed to help participants learn a skill that could be monetised later for rehabilitation and livelihood support.
Impact & Outcome
Around 75 women inmates were trained to promote self-reliance and economic empowerment. A business opportunity was also offered to them. Also, each and every inmate was equipped with complete kits.
