“Safe Roads, Bright Futures” – A Road Safety Awareness Campaign

YFLO Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Traffic Police Department of Hyderabad, hosted the ñSafe Roads, Bright Futuresî Road Safety Awareness Campaign at The G. Narayanamma Institute of Technology and Sciences, Shaikpet, Hyderabad. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about road safety while empowering young women to adopt safe commuting practices.

The event started with a welcome address from the College Head, highlighting YFLO HyderabadÍs ongoing community welfare initiatives. Ms. Ridhi Jain, Chairperson of YFLO Hyderabad, delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the role of youth, especially women, in promoting a culture of road safety for a brighter future.

Sri. P. Viswa Prasad, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, visited as the guest of honor and shared key initiatives taken by the Traffic Police Department to improve road safety. A practical road safety session led by a Traffic Police Department representative engaged students with valuable tips on following traffic rules and prioritizing personal safety while commuting.

The event saw participation from students, who shared their commuting challenges during a lively Q&A session. A powerful moment of the day was the Road Safety Pledge, where over 500 women committed to following safe commuting practices.

Hands-on activities, including interactive demonstrations on the importance of wearing helmets, crossing roads safely, and following traffic signals, further reinforced these messages. Students actively participated, making the learning experience both fun and educational.

Ms. Ridhi Jain expressed her gratitude to the participants, the Traffic Police Department, the college administration, and all contributors. This impactful event united law enforcement, educational institutions, and young women to address the critical issue of road safety.
