Job Ready Skills Program Launch – Academia–Industry Linkages Initiative

FLO Kanpur, under the leadership of Chairperson Kriti Shroff, launched its Job Ready Skills Program under Linkages between Academia and Industry Vertical. The initiative aimed to enhance employability among young women by equipping them with industry-relevant, job-ready skills aligned with local market demand. The program focuses on bridging the gap between education and employment through practical training and placement support.

Event Highlights

The Job Ready Skills Program was launched in collaboration with Jobsgaar, a startup that trains youth in job-ready skills. The program commenced with an initial cohort of 21 girls, who will be trained in high-demand roles aligned with the needs of Kanpur city, including Retail Sales, Receptionist, and Tele-calling. Post culmination of the program, Jobsgaar will assist the participants in securing placement opportunities.

The initiative was supported by the past Chairperson and National Policy Head, whose guidance and facilitation were instrumental in enabling the collaboration and smooth execution of the program.

Impact

The program marks a meaningful step toward creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for young women. 21 girls have embarked on a structured skilling journey that will prepare them for employment and financial independence, contributing to long-term social and economic empowerment.
