FLO Trade Fair & Bazaar

FLO Uttarakhand, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Geeta Khanna, hosted the FLO Trade Fair and Bazaar at Hotel Madhuban, presenting a vibrant display of India’s rich cultural heritage. The two-day event brought together 22 distinguished artisans from across the country along with over 40 exhibition stalls representing diverse industries, creating a dynamic marketplace for artisans, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs.

Led by Dr. Geeta Khanna and convened by Lubna Mirza and Jyoti Singh Rathore, the event was graced by Chief Guests Dr. Geeta Dhami, wife of Hon’ble CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Ritu Khanduri, along with Guest of Honor and social media sensation Rohit Bose.

Empowering Artisans & Promoting Heritage

A core highlight of the Bazaar was FLO Uttarakhand’s initiative to uplift artisans by offering complimentary stalls, boarding, and lodging. The artisan showcase featured Padma Shri, National, State, and UNESCO awardees who presented exceptional traditional crafts from across India.

It included Punjab’s Phulkari embroidery, Gujarat’s Patola and Tangalia weaving, Rajasthan’s Bagru and Bagh prints, intricate paper cutting, copper metal art, Rafoogari, Pattu weaving, and a wide range of Uttarakhand’s own handlooms and handicrafts. The initiative reinforced FLO’s commitment to preserving India’s artistic heritage while providing artisans with a meaningful platform for visibility and sales.

Vibrant Exhibition Stalls

The event also hosted over 40 stalls spanning handlooms, handicrafts, jewellery, home décor, hospitality, gifting options, footwear, NGOs, tarot reading, and homepreneurs. Several FLO members showcased their products—from gourmet foods to home furnishings and fashion—while also sponsoring stalls for emerging entrepreneurs.

MSME-registered vendors were offered a special 10% discount on stall prices, encouraging wider participation and supporting local businesses. Despite the rain, the fair recorded an impressive footfall of over 2000 visitors.

Interactive Workshops & Experiences

The Trade Fair and Bazaar featured engaging workshops that drew enthusiastic participation:

Saree Draping Workshop by Rohit Bose and his mother, Leena Bose, demonstrating modern and traditional draping styles. Paper Cutting Workshop by master craftsman Ram Soni, who shared techniques of the intricate art form. Kathputli Workshop conducted by Sarwati, introducing participants to traditional Rajasthani puppetry. These interactive sessions added a learning dimension to the event, deepening appreciation for India’s artistic practices. This exhibition achieved a good community outreach of 30 lakhs.  Convenors’ Note
