FLO Jaipur, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr. Rimmi Shekhawat, proudly conducted a powerful on-ground engagement with AWWA (Army Wives Welfare Association) and Sapta Shakti Asha School. The event was held at Sapta Shakti Command, Jaipur and marked a celebration of compassion, empowerment, and inclusive education in action. FLO members interacted with Mrs. Preeti Sidhu and Mrs. Manu Gill, who are steering impactful vocational initiatives at the grassroots level through AWWA.
The FLO team visited multiple skill workshops, all designed to uplift, empower, and create pathways for women to financial independence with the support of AWWA. The sessions were tailored to build practical and income-generating skills among women in defence communities. Each module represents a clear roadmap to confidence and capability: Basic Finance, Budgeting & UPI Usage, Digital Skilling & Basic Computer Learning, Advanced Tailoring & Fashion Design, Digital Marketing & Micro Entrepreneurship, and Beautician Workshop with potential for certified career pathways.
A heartfelt contribution of ₹4 lakh was donated to AWWA, further supporting their mission to uplift women and families connected to the armed forces. This collaboration between FLO and AWWA reflects the true spirit of Saksham Shakti, empowering women not just with skills but with a renewed sense of purpose and self-worth.
On the other hand, the visit to Sapta Shakti Asha School was to ensure that children with special needs were given the space, tools, and care to thrive. From handcrafted stone jewellery and gifting bags made by the students, to their joyful dance and music performances, every experience reflected the creative brilliance and resilience of these young minds. The school’s focus on holistic development through academics, life skills, art, and movement therapy was evident in every classroom.
Also, this visit was graced by Dr. Hema Kapoor, whose compassionate leadership has transformed Sapta Shakti Asha School into a vibrant sanctuary for special needs education. The children of Asha School reminded FLO members of the beauty of inclusion, while the women engaged in AWWA workshops inspired attendees with their drive to learn, evolve, and lead. FLO Saksham, in collaboration with AWWA, continues its commitment to inclusive empowerment from special needs education to skill development for women.
