FLO Chennai X Haqdarshak: Information Stall At Voice Of The People Session

FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Niyati A. Mehta, proudly collaborated with Haqdarshak, a national social impact organization, to amplify access to social protection services and empower citizens through awareness of government schemes for the public.

As part of this collaboration, Haqdarshak set up an engaging information stall during the “Voice of the People” session, featuring Dr. Thamizhachi Thangapandian as the guest speaker. Over 140 enthusiastic FLO members visited the stall, learning about Haqdarshak’s mission and the transformative potential of its outreach programs.

Founded nine years ago, Haqdarshak works across 25 states in India to bridge the information and access gap between citizens and various government and private social welfare schemes. Their tech-enabled platforms, combined with a last-mile network of trained field agents (Haqdarshaks)—most of whom are women—ensure that marginalized communities gain access to over 7,000 welfare schemes available in 13+ Indian languages.

As part of their ongoing national campaign, Haqdarshak is offering the following free services to low-income citizens in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha:

  • Application assistance for one government welfare scheme.

  • One session on Digital Financial Literacy (DFL) or Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) training for small business owners, including street vendors, tailors, beauticians, and solopreneurs.

  • Issuance of a Yojana Card to facilitate long-term access to welfare benefits.

During the event, Haqdarshak representatives interacted with FLO members, sharing insights on how their services can strengthen community engagement and promote financial inclusion. The organization also connected with the Personal Assistant to the Member of Parliament, enabling greater outreach and potential collaboration for expanded impact.
