YFLO Hyderabad organised a unique field trip and an interactive workshop ‘Face to Face with Facebook’ at the Facebook office, the global giant of the social media at Hi-tech city, Hyderabad

About the Field Trip to Facebook Office:

The YFLO Workshop at the Global giant of Social Media Facebook’s office at Hyderabad was all that it was hyped to be. It was an opportunity for all members to witness and learn the functioning of world’s best social networking platform. Members were warmly welcomed and taken around the premises. A very nice area was set up in their cafeteria which is interestingly called the ‘Dhabha” for the members to congregate and attend the session.

Key points:
The authorities welcomed the group and stated Facebook’s mission statement of social values, engaging with different communities and shared their tie ups with the government of Telangana for an initiative called ‘boost your business’.
Members were educated about the evolution of Facebook from 2010 with 5Million users predominantly on a web-based platform to 125Million users on mostly mobile based platform in 2015.
Facebook strives to make the world more open and connected. It is a one-stop shop for marketing across the world. Its family of apps are very popular like Messenger, Instagram and Whatsapp which also aid in doing so…Just whatsapp alone has 900 Million users of which 10% are from India.
Further they enumerated on how effective was Facebook over TV & Media, in advertising and marketing.
Research has proved that its reach goes beyond human connections and users spend more time on a daily basis which helps in building connections which can be used for humanitarian causes too. For instance Facebook was able to raise more than 10 million dollars in two days for Nepal Earthquake victims.
Many successful startups owe their success to facebook like ‘Social Blood’ and ‘Chumbak’ which chose facebook and its power of connecting for their advertising needs. 35% of their revenue generated has been attributed to facebook leads.
The Facebook team then educated the groups on Ads Product Overview. They led us through the generics of Creating a Page, Creating Posts and Promoting your Business.
Members were given tips on engaging target audience through relevant content via eye-catching photos and videos.
The goal is to have customers come to your page and be on your page.
Further on they emphasised on having a Business Strategy Timeline & setting Goals. Identifying the big goal, Drive for Traffic, Generating Leads and creating Brand Awareness are key.
Members were also briefly acquainted with www.facebook.com/blueprint which is an advertising training module that facebook offers to take your business forward.
After the insightful session members were treated to a sumptuous hi-tea and given an exclusive tour around their private campus and office which is a privilege in itself. All the members were thrilled to be given a goody bag to take home with lots of FB goodies in it.

It was a very informative, inter-active and interesting field-trip with lots to learn and take back with us.
