42nd FICCI FLO National President, Ms. Poonam Sharma, was invited to attend a special address by Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, at the Parliament of India. A debate on the 150th anniversary of the iconic patriotic song, Vande Mataram, took place in the Lok Sabha. The discussion highlighted the song’s historical importance and its lesser-known contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
This Parliament Winter Session 2025 reflected the legacy of the song written by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and its contribution in shaping India’s cultural and political consciousness. Vande Matram is more than just a song; it’s a mantra that has awakened generations to fight for independence. In the Rajya Sabha, issues like the mass cancellation of Indigo flights were raised.
Ms. Poonam Sharma was accompanied by FICCI FLO’s past presidents, Ms. Abha Dalmia, Ms. Neeta Boochra, Ms. Usha Agarwala, Ms. Anjana Somany, Ms. Namita Gautam, and Ms. Jayanti Dalmia, along with Ms. Smriti Puri, FICCI FLO’s National Treasurer, and National GB members Ms. Saloni Mehta, Ms. Ritu Vadera, Ms. Ruby Garg, and Ms. Ambar Pariddi Sahai.
