On December 21, 2024, the FLO Jaipur, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Raghushree Poddar, celebrated World Saree Day, paying homage to thetimeless elegance and cultural significance of sarees. The event was joined by the chapter’s founder, Ms. Neeta Boochra, who highlighted the craftsmanship of India’s weavers and the heritage they uphold. A special segment revisited a talk show by National Award-winning textile designer Mr. Gaurang Shah, held during the Royal Crafts Exhibition. Mr. Shah delved into the intricate beauty of Jamdani, Ikat, and embroidered textiles, sharing the stories and artistry behind these timeless crafts. Iconic projects such as the Raja Ravi Varma-inspired collection and the Shreenath Ji textile line captured the audience’s imagination with their blend of tradition and innovation.
The celebration embodied the theme #MeriTimelessSaree, encouraging members to embrace the saree as a symbol of grace, tradition, and creativity. Through this event, the FLO Jaipur celebrated the skill of India’s artisans, fostering pride in the country’s rich textile heritage.
