A Christmas of Compassion – Community Outreach Visit (Blind School)

FLO Amritsar, under the leadership of Chairpersonn Ms. Mona Singh, conducted a community outreach visit to the Drishti Foundation for the Blind, Amritsar, on Christmas Day. The visit to the blind school focused on having meaningful engagement with visually impaired students and understanding their immediate needs. 

FLO members, Dr. Sarita Nagra – Executive Member, Nidhi Bhalla – Executive Member, Anju Mahajan, Mrs. Praveen, and Roop Kaur, spent time interacting with the students, ensuring a warm, respectful, and inclusive environment throughout the engagement. 

A complete meal, including a specially arranged Chinese lunch and cold drinks, was served to all attendees. During the interaction, certain essential requirements were identified, and arrangements were planned to provide these essentials before the New Year.

Impact & Outcome 

28 visually impaired individuals benefited from the outreach visit, strengthening FLO Amritsar’s commitment to compassionate and inclusive community service. The visit reflected FICCI FLO Amritsar’s continued commitment to inclusive community engagement and social responsibility. The initiative reaffirmed the chapter’s focus on addressing real needs through direct interaction, empathy, and timely support.
