FLO Connect X Talank Banaras (National Initiative – Handloom, Textiles and Handicraft)

FLO Vadodara, under the leadership of Chairperson Ms. Shivani P. Patel, collaborated with FLO member and entrepreneur Ms. Ojashvee Gupta, founder of Talank, in order to present an exclusive showcase celebrating the rich weaving traditions of Banaras through the FLO Connect X Talank Banaras event.

Talank, renowned for its authentic Banarasi sarees, featured a thoughtfully curated collection of handwoven creations that seamlessly blend age-old craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. During the event, Ms. Ojashvee Gupta delivered an insightful talk on the richness of India’s textile heritage—highlighting the history, artistry, and cultural significance of Banarasi weaving and traditional Indian weaves.

Her address deepened appreciation for the craft, offering members a meaningful understanding of the legacy preserved by Talank’s artisans. Each creation reflected Talank’s commitment to preserving India’s textile legacy—sustainable clothing rooted in traditional looms yet thoughtfully reimagined for today’s fashion sensibilities.

The showcase highlighted Banaras’ timeless artistry with modern elegance and enduring appeal. With strong support from FLO Vadodara, the event achieved impressive sales, enabling direct income generation for artisans associated with Talank. FLO’s platform helped amplify Talank’s work, drawing member engagement, enhancing visibility, and expanding market reach.

Members deeply appreciated the thoughtful curation and the harmony of heritage, sustainability, and refined aesthetics—making this the first impactful initiative led by Ms. Ojashvee Gupta under FLO’s banner. This collaboration significantly boosted awareness for Talank’s artisan-made sustainable clothing and strengthened FLO’s commitment to promoting Indian handlooms.

By facilitating sales and visibility, FLO Vadodara played a pivotal role in creating economic opportunities for weavers and supporting a woman entrepreneur dedicated to community-focused design. The initiative also encouraged conscious fashion choices and reinforced FLO’s long-term vision of championing women- led enterprises that integrate creativity, culture, and empowerment.
