FLO Chennai, under the leadership of Chairperson Dr Divya Abhishek, hosted the “World Saree Day Soiree” at The Leela Palace, celebrating the timeless elegance of sarees. The evening was curated by the Fashion & Jewellery vertical, headed by Ms Vimmi Deepak, and supported by vertical members Deepika Goyal, Amrit Rattha, Gitanjali Prashant, and Kavita Modi, with a vision to promote sarees as a symbol of India’s rich heritage, art, and tradition. 470 people attended the event.
Shri Unnikrishnan and Ms Uthara Unnikrishnan started the event and welcomed Dr Divya Abhishek who highlighted the significance of the saree as a living testament to India’s diverse cultural narratives and its potential to unify FLO chapters nationwide in rekindling the love for this iconic attire.
The soiree was graced by the presence of the Honourable Minister, Thiru R. Gandhi, who lit the ceremonial lamp alongside distinguished guests, including FLO Chennai Senior Vice Chair Ms. Niyati Mehta, representatives from NAC Jewellers, and other dignitaries.
The highlight of the evening was the exquisite fashion showcase, pairing stunning sarees from Ekaya, a brand renowned for redefining Indian textiles on the global stage, with NAC Jewellers’ captivating ruby collection. The choreography by Ms. Prajanya Anand celebrates the saree as a timeless emblem of beauty and grace. The evening also featured heartfelt acknowledgements to key contributors, including Ms Anuradha and Mr Arjun from NAC Jewellers, Ms Palakh from Ekaya, and the FLO Chennai team for their dedicated efforts in making the event a resounding success.
The soiree also provided an opportunity for networking, celebration, and indulging in a thoughtfully curated menu, leaving everyone with memories of an evening steeped in heritage, elegance, and joy.
