Women Achiever's Award

On 30th March, 2009 FLO Kolkata Chapter organized , Women Achievers’ Award , at The Park. To celebrate the presence of FLO in Kolkata for 11 years , 11 women achievers from various fields were selected . Shri Somnath Chatterjee, Hon’ble Speaker Of The Parliament was present as the Chief Guest to do the honour. This was the way for FLO to salute those women who dreamt it BIG and dared to follow it through tremendous hardships to reach the summit of success. The event was literally gatecrashing and people had to wait outside to get accommodated. The Chief Guest, Shri Somnath Chatterjee opened up his mind on what he feels about women empowerment and its scenario in India. He spoke high of FLO Kolkata Chapters’ endeavour to bring out and award the most deserving woman of the respective field. The programme inaugurated with Ganesh Vandana Stotra sung by, Ms Vasundhara Mantri, Costume Jewellery Designer and winner of FLO GR8 Women Achievers Award, 2009; and after the award presentation it ended with 3 mesmerising ” Gaudiya Nritya” performances by one of the awardees, Dr. Mahua Mukherjee and her troupe.
