According to 2019 estimates by UN, India is the leading country of origin of international migrants with a 17.5 million-strong diaspora. For a nation which prides itself on having a rich, vibrant, prosperous and strong diaspora, the India-diaspora relations is extremely crucial.
Talking about the importance of tapping India’s Soft Power and sharing his experiences of working with the Indian Diaspora, Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale, Head of BJP’s Foreign Affairs said, “160 countries out of 180 countries representing in UN endorsed Yoga Day proposed by PM Modi in a record short time. It shows that people are looking towards India to give unique solutions”.
