FLO Bhubaneswar hosted a webinar titled "Empowering Entrepreneurs Through Intellectual Property Rights," led by Sri Sudha, an expert and Asst. Manager & Scientific Officer, National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) on September 17th, 2024.

Sri Sudha emphasised the importance of safeguarding innovations and business identity through IPR, noting that trademarks build brand recognition and trust, critical for long-term success. She also highlighted that secured IPR adds business value, attracting investors and strategic partners, and can be monetised through licensing, royalties, or patent sales.
The session addressed global IP issues and challenges in understanding legal frameworks, high filing costs, and international protection, along with solutions like seeking professional advice and using government subsidies. An interactive Q&A followed, where Sri Sudha offered practical advice on cost- effective IP strategies for small businesses, including conducting prior art searches before filing for patents, managing international protection, and handling IP disputes.
