Vocation Training Center (VTC) at Anjuman-e-Himayath-e-Islam

The VTC at Anjuman-e-Himayath-e-Islam, established in 2015 under the leadership of Chairperson Nabila Avais, is dedicated to the holistic development of resident girls and external students. The center aims to cultivate soft skills, ignite a passion for self-sufficiency, and equip students with practical skills for future livelihoods, ensuring that each girl becomes a “Jack of All Trades.”

Programs and Courses offered by VTC include tailoring packages with a comprehensive syllabus and textbooks, certified basic and advanced diplomas, a TNOU certified one-year course in “Fashion Designing & Garment Making,” and a DACAL remedial module. The certified basic and advanced tailoring courses have duration of six months, while the TNOU certified one-year diploma starts in August and concludes in July with exams. All in-house girls participate in these programs from June 15th until the end of February the following year. These programs are tailored to meet the diverse needs of students, providing them with structured learning and valuable certifications.

Facilities at the center are well-equipped with 27 beginner sewing machines, 4 advanced power machines, an embroidery machine, and an overlock machine. These resources enable the VTC to provide comprehensive training to both internal and external students, who receive certificates upon successful completion of their courses.

Skills Taught at VTC encompass a wide range of disciplines, including patchwork, quilting, tailoring, embroidery, crochet, painting, pottery, dietetics and nutrition, cookery, bakery, English language, first responder diploma, origami, calligraphy, mandala art, fabric painting, jewelry making, palm leaf weaving, martial arts, and ancient games. This diverse skill set ensures that students are well-rounded and prepared for various career paths.

Student Enrollment currently includes 27 external students (housewives and college girls), 30 DACAL students, 11 TNOU certified students, and 10 girls from Std 9, totaling 78 girls. The center’s tailored programs and supportive environment help these students achieve their educational and vocational goals.

The Objectives of the VTC focus on fostering holistic development by nurturing and cultivating various soft skills in both resident and external students. The training packages are meticulously structured, following a well-prepared syllabus, and include textbooks with step-by-step illustrations. The VTC emphasizes the importance of maintaining signed record books with miniatures to ensure thorough learning and practice.
