Visit to Sage Farm Café

YFLO chairperson Shilpa Datla and the committee organised a farm The event shed light on topics like sustainable living, garbology and permaculture.

Nature visits are always therapeutic but to retain the same natural environment – one must understand the principles and basic techniques of composting, gardening and use of natural substances than plastic products. The session was in the sage farm cafe, 1 hour away from the city and the members arrived in the bus organised by the YFLO committee. The session started by a small introduction from YFLO chairperson Shilpa Datla and a token of appreciation given to our organisers.

Ms. Kavitha Mantha (owner of Sage Farm) and Mr Uday both took turns and explained various processes and gave tips on reusing plastic, recycling and making homemade compost.

Members participated actively in the session, asked queries and learnt how to make compost for their gardens. The event also included a guided tour, hands-on learning of compost aerobic and anaerobic way and a nutritious lunch from the farm.
