On July 9, 2024, the FLO SILIGURI Chapter meticulously orchestrated a religious day trip to Jalpesh, a renowned pilgrimage site nestled in the serene landscapes of North Bengal. This thoughtful initiative, under the guidance of Chairperson Niharika Mitruka , and project chairpersons Shivika Mittal and Payal Periwal, aimed to enrich the lives of rural women by providing them with a profound opportunity to reconnect with their faith.
The day began at the break of dawn, with participants gathering at 6:00 AM to embark on a journey filled with spiritual resonance and communal bonding. For many of these women, this excursion offered a cherished escape from the demands of their daily lives, fostering moments of relaxation and deep introspection amidst the tranquil surroundings of Jalpesh.
Throughout the day, the attendees were not only immersed in religious rituals and worship but also had ample time to forge meaningful connections with fellow devotees, sharing stories of faith and personal journeys. The provision of a traditional saree for each devotee added a touch of cultural significance and reverence to the experience, symbolizing both unity and devotion.
A nutritious lunch was graciously provided, ensuring that every participant could rejuvenate themselves amidst the day’s activities. Transportation arrangements, including the deployment of three buses, were meticulously planned to ensure the comfort and convenience of all travelers, facilitating a seamless journey to and from Jalpesh.
By the evening, as the day trip concluded, the women returned home enriched not only by the spiritual experiences they had shared but also by the bonds of camaraderie forged along the way. This event not only honored their faith but also celebrated the strength and resilience of the rural community, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in fostering holistic well-being and cultural enrichment.
