The SHE Factor – Ms.Margaret Alva & her daughter-in-law Ms. Anuja Chauhan

An interactive session “THE SHE FACTOR” with former Governor Ms. Margaret Alva & her daughter-in-law Ms. Anuja Chauhan, the lady of the Advertising Industry, worked as the youngest Vice President & Creative Director for JWT. Ms. Alva & Ms. Chauhan shared her experiences and anecdotes, and the ‘She factor’ that not only make them achievers but also an inspiration to other women. When a question was asked to Ms. Alva how a son should be raised with a character, she talked about the importance of upbringing by the parents & Girls should be given as much as freedom as boys. Ms. Anuja shared very interesting incidents during her inter-caste marriage between Rajput & Christians. But she also praised her mother-in-law to be very supportive in all her endeavours, who has never forced her values on Anuja & respects her upbringing. Ms. Anuja also stated that the values that Ms. Alva has inculcated in her son Mr. Niret Alva (Anuja’s husband) despite being brought up in a political background is commendable.

Chairperson Ms. Preeti Saboo concluded “The whole idea of discussing the SHE factor with Ms. Alva & Ms. Chauhan, was to let women know what it takes to be the kind of empowered women that they are”, & draw an Inspiration from them.

The takeaways were:

1. Members were excited to hear our ex-Governor of Rajasthan Ms. Margaret Alva & as she shared her experience of what it takes to be a leader.
2. Both the speakers Ms. Margaret Alva & Ms. Anuja Chauhan interacted half an hour before the event with our members, informally.
3. Above all, our members enjoyed networking over scrumptious chaat.
