TATA-TiE Stree Shakti, Enabling Women Entrepreneurship Workshop & Awards December 12th, 2009

Tie in association with FLO organized a one day Workshop TATA-TiE Stree Shakti Workshop & Awards – 2009. The workshop focused on enabling, inspiring, encouraging and recognizing Women Entrepreneurs. We had some very eminent panelists who are all very senior and respected in their respective fields like Rama Bijapurkar, one of India’s most respected leaders on market strategy & consumer related issues, Vinita Bali, MD – Britannia Industries, Manisha Girotra, Chairperson – USB Warburg India, Mirai Chatterjee, Director of the Social Security unit of the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), Shikha Sharma, MD & CEO – Axis Bank, Dr. Sanjay Jha, Co-Chief Executive officer of Motorola, Inc. & CEO of Motorola’s Mobile Devices business and many more.
The workshop was followed by the Award ceremony which was being given in three categories;

Small Enterprises Category;

Nirmala Kandalgaonkar, Founder Vivam Agrotech, an organization that deals in solid waste management.

Nusrat Jahan Ara – Nusrat heads Jammu-based Petals & Ferns, an organization that grows cut flowers and flowe seeds under hi – tech poly homes and in open cultivation.

Rani Advani – The brainchild of Rani Advani, Bumblebee is a retail store that offers essential and designer solutions for children.

Micro Enterprises Category;

Anwara Begum, hailing from Burdwan district of West Bengal, Anwara’s Pialee Enterprise is an organization that makes a variety of dresses by hand embroidery (Kamthastitech)

Charuta Kadurkar – Charuta’s Maherwat is an Organisation which is home away from home for the elderly. It offers complete residential facilities, nutritious food and medical attention, entertainment and social immersion in homely environment founded on love, care and compassion.

Medium Enterprises Category;

Sweta Mangal, she heads Ziqitza that provides a network of equipped life support ambulances on a 24X7 basis.

Gayatri Singh – gayatri heads New Delhi based Q2amedia, a leading education content provider to the U.K, & U.S. markets in the pre-k to 12 segments.

The Workshop was an astounding success, it was attended by business leaders & students from all over the country who were enriched with the knowledge imparted through an interactive workshop on leadership.
