FLO Amritsar ran a campaign on Suicide Prevention Awareness between September 10th and 30th, 2024. The campaign has successfully involved the community as its theme was “Change the Narrative on Suicide”. This campaign aims to spread awareness about mental health and engage the community in suicide prevention.
The campaign focused on key activities such as a Radio Initiative between September 10th and 17th on 94.3 MY FM. It also featured psychologists and diverse individuals sharing insights and advice on mental health to prevent the negative thoughts that ultimately lead to self-harm or suicide.
The campaign also featured the “Candle of Hope Gathering” on September 15th at The Couture by KJH. It was supported by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Amritsar Branch and 94.3 MY FM. Singer Hargun Kaur graced the campaign with her presence which was the day’s highlight.
On September 17th, Conversation Over Coffee was organized at Starbucks, Ranjit Avenue, supported by Timeless Amritsar and OTT Trust. This interactive session focused on discussion around mental health and suicide prevention.
The campaign also featured a Lecture Session on September 19th at Hayde Auditorium, Old Cantonment Amritsar. In collaboration with the Indian Army, OTT Trust, and 94.3 MY FM.
The session featured talks by Dr. Nistha Gupta and Dr Anupama on mental health challenges, particularly in high-pressure environments. The participants wore teal, purple, and white, and purple candles of hope were lit at all events.
