Stem Initiative for Middle School Students

Flo Chennai, CSR Impact Team, completed the first term of The “Lab in a Backpack” STEM program in 8 givernemnt schools in Sriperambadur and Oragadam areas, in the oiutskirts of Chennai. . This program , funded by Saint-Gobain India Ltd, has made a significant impact and reached 2670 students across 8 government schools . The schools include PUMS Mambakkam, PUMS Pudhuper, PUMS Pondhur, PUMS NGO Colony, GHS Katrambakkam, GGHSS Sriperumbudur, GHSS Panruti, and GHS Mathur.

In August 2024, the program covered three key topics: States of Matter, Atomic Structure, and Robotics.

Over 130 sessions, these topics were integrated into the students’ curriculum in a dynamic and engaging manner. The hands-on approach, supported by the distribution of science toys and educational books, greatly enhanced the students' learning experience. This method not only made STEM concepts more accessible but also significantly boosted students' interest in science and technology.

The successful execution of the program was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Chairperson Divya and the CSR impact team, headed by Ms Sandhya Jaichandren
