A journey that started in April 2019 when FLO Hyderabad chose to work with ladies from Dhoolpet community, who were in toddy selling earlier and now with almost no livelihood. After a lot of deliberations and also counselling, came to certain understandings of what these friendly and robust community wanted.
Ficci FLO hyd came forward with various skilling and training Initiatives for these 150 plus ladies starting from pickle selling in phase 1 to professional training in cooking, jute bag making, beautician and mehendi course, NIIT supported computer course in phase 2.
FLO facilitated 15 ladies to get microloans from the banks and some more are in pipeline for taking forward their grass-root entrepreneurship!
Certificates were given at the completion of their course to most of these ladies today in presence of local BJP ML Raja Singh Lodhi, GB member Ajitha Reddy at the Oxford School where the lab facilities were provided for training. Jobs are offered for the cooks and beauticians and they have started being placed.
A dream to empower them which was embarked with a vision to make them financially stable has taken its shape! A special mention to Prashanti Shekhar who executed the vision diligently and Neeru mohan and Leena Doshi FLO members who trained them for cooking
