His breakthrough role came in 1992 with Mani Ratnam’s “Roja,” earning him critical acclaim and numerous awards. Swamy has showcased his versatility by acting in various genres and languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
After a hiatus to pursue an MBA at Harvard Business School and establish his company, Talent Maximus, Swamy made a successful comeback in 2021 with the film “Thalivii.” He has won several awards, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor and Filmfare Awards for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor. Known off-screen for his intelligence, humility, and down-to-earth nature, Swamy is a respected figure in the industry.
