FLO Chennai’s Impact – Literacy – Vertical Head , Ms. Sandhya Jaichandran, Impact- Rural Livelihood Head Ms. Jyoti Thomas and Joint Treasurer Ms Ruchita Saroagi visited Panruti Village to collaborate with the self-help group leader, Ms. Sangita; fashion and beautician, Ms Pavithra; and Ms Shalini, in assessing the women’s interests and planning training sessions aimed at enhancing their employability skills or enabling them to start their own small businesses. A total of 95 women participated, expressing keen interest in various training programs including tailoring, Aari embroidery, cold press oil extraction, masala making, fashion designing, beautician courses, sanitary napkin production, and candle and incense making. The visit marked a significant step towards empowering the women of Panruti Village with practical skills to improve their livelihoods and economic independence.
