Seeds of Change

FLO Amritsar’s biggest substantial initiative of year – “The Environment drive 2019-20” was led by Mr. Rohit Mehra (IRS) & Mrs. Geetanjali Mehra. The Environment drive “Seeds of Change “ was divided into three stages.

Stage 1 – Seeds of Change: More than a lakh people were given Green-education. Seed-bombs were made at schools, homes, petrol pumps & temples.

Stage 2 – Throw to Grow: This stage began when the community as whole started throwing the seed-bombs at barren lands.

Stage 3 – Unveiling of Ficci FLO Green-Landmark: First time ever in the history of FICCI FLO chapters a landmark was created. Ficci FLO AMRITSAR Landmark was inaugurated on 3rd June 2019, by FLO President, Harjinder Kaur Talwar in Amritsar along with the dignitaries of the city. Landmark has a vertical garden created from 145kgs of reused plastic, 4,000 saplings being planted, and it has drip irrigation thereby reducing 93% of water usage.

The culmination of month-long campaign was all the more significant with the presence of the UN Goodwill Ambassador Dia Mirza.
